‘Joining Istevin Champions’s i-Champion Programme is one of the best choices I’ve ever made during my high school years. I used to struggle tremendously with communications in English Language. I had always wished that there was no need for me to speak English, and that no presentations in English were required in school. I can vividly recall the feeling of lack of confidence and the amount of stress overwhelming me when all eyes were on me every time I presented in front of my peers. ‘I would describe Istevin Champions as a place where new ideas and creativity can be magnified. I still remember the first day I arrived at Istevin as a bashful kid, I literally had no confidence to either communicate in English Language nor convey my ideas whenever I was asked to. However, the journey that I have had for the past 7 years has groomed me to be an outspoken and confident person. The trainings were given by the coaches to not only speak fearlessly on stage, but also present my imaginative ideas to others. Through imparting strategies to me and patient trainings on me, I have learned to do all these and I’m grateful for them. From a kid who couldn’t even speak a whole sentence properly to winning Public Speaking competitions, I genuinely feel thankful for all the dedications from all the coaches.
